On the morning of August 16, in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, Vietnam Logistics Research and Development Institute (VLI) in collaboration with Binh Dinh Department of Industry and Trade organized a Logistics Knowledge Training Conference in 2024. The event attracted a large number of officials and civil servants from departments, branches and sectors in Binh Dinh Province.

The conference was attended by more than 120 representatives of provincial departments, branches, and sectors, People’s Committees of districts, towns, and cities, along with businesses in logistics and import-export services. In addition, the participation of associations, industries, and universities and colleges created an interesting conference, providing a lot of useful and valuable knowledge.

In his opening remarks at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Kha highlighted the importance of the logistics industry in the structure of the national economy. Mr. Kha emphasized that logistics is not only a key service industry but also an important factor in connecting and promoting the socio-economic development of Vietnam and localities, while contributing to improving the competitiveness of the economy.

In Binh Dinh province, with advantages in natural conditions and transport infrastructure, especially advantages from seaports, we are taking full advantage of these factors to develop a comprehensive logistics service system. Maritime transport services and seaport-connected transport are becoming the main pillars, gradually turning Binh Dinh into an important logistics center of the region. Therefore, logistics is increasingly affirming its essential role and positive influence on the province’s economy.

At the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Ho Thi Thu Hoa shared in-depth knowledge and discussed with delegates about important issues in the field of logistics. Through the training session, delegates grasped an overview of logistics, supply chain, as well as policies and legal regulations related to the development of logistics services. Issues of the current status of logistics development in Vietnam, and especially in Binh Dinh province, were also discussed enthusiastically.

In addition to traditional topics, the conference also updated new trends in logistics such as logistics for e-commerce, cold chain, green logistics, and urban logistics. These topics not only expand knowledge but also help management agencies and businesses better understand new challenges and opportunities in the industry.

The conference also demonstrated the strong commitment of the Vietnam Logistics Association (VLA) and the Vietnam Logistics Research and Development Institute (VLI) in implementing the task group “Training, raising awareness and quality of human resources” according to Decision 221/QD-TTg dated February 22, 2021 amending Decision 200/QD-TTg dated February 14, 2017 on approving the Action Plan to improve competitiveness and develop Vietnam’s logistics services by 2025. This is an important part in meeting the requirements of sustainable development of the industry.

The conference, with in-depth discussions and clear directions, promises to contribute positively to the development of the logistics industry in Binh Dinh and nationwide.
